One circle. Multiple faiths. A mosque floor in Abura, Central Region, and a conversation about how communities build power.
Multi-Faith in Action Ghana, Central Region, hosted Prof. Paul W. Speer and Prof. Brian D. Christens of Vanderbilt University, USA, at the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission Mosque, Abura, Cape Coast.
The meeting brought together Christians, Muslims and traditional leaders in a single circle for a conversation on grassroots organising: how people come together around key community priorities, how a shared concern develops into a public demand, and what it takes to move institutions to listen, engage and respond.
The visit forms part of a wider research initiative by Vanderbilt University, in collaboration with Faith in Action, USA, examining how communities organise, build collective power and pursue social change.
Our gratitude goes to the Missionary-in-Charge and members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Abura, for their warm hospitality and for providing a welcoming space for this important interfaith conversation.
Research that listens to communities is research that can serve them.
